LO2: Be able to correlate the evolution of new media organisational cultures and roles which have impacted on the product proposal
The growth and development of social media the evolution of media organisations has changed the market place, meaning diversification of existing industries, due to globalisation. Globalisation is the distribution, production and consumption of a media product on a global scale. The media can now reach a larger and wider audience by using the internet making it more accessible for everyone all over the world, as technology is growing, so people market products can now advertise their different product online for more people to see. Before technology and social media it was limited to who organisations could reach due to not being able to be accessible to many different countries, so products were harder to advertise, therefore the company wouldn’t be as successful.
Conglomerates companies have taken great advantage of the opportunities that modern technology have provided for them. This then makes their companies more well known and accessible for a variety of audiences.
Different larger conglomerates such as Disney have an evolved in the media sector to meet the changes required of converging media. This has been successful by using cross media production and promotion by using their subsidiaries, meaning that the company is more accessible for their audiences all over the world. An example of this would be Disney creating Disney+. This platform allows people to stream their content online for a small monthly cost. As a result of this it allows the company to keep their profile and potentially gain a larger audience across the world. Disney also have achieved several successful social media pages, because of this it means the company can reach their target audience effectively and stream small clips of new releases and get their audience and reach potential other viewers.
The prosumers of my app will need to be able to share their ideology, by doing this it would allows people purchasing the app to feel comfortable when giving away their personal details. For this you would need a project manager to make sure the app will meet the clients brief and is fit for purpose for the audience of the app. Other job roles that will be required in order to create this app would consist of an app designer, app developer, project manager, testing operator, software engineers and coder. All these job roles play an important part in creating this app and create the designs and features of the app.
A job role which i need to consider when making my app is a product designer. This job role requires someone to create the new concept for the app and will need to go through multiple steps in order to create the final product an example of this would be the pre production planning where the idea has been planned for by using assets such as wireframes and visualisation diagrams to show the navigation of the app the product designer will also need to create a prototype so it is clear for the client what the final product will look like. This role is essential when creating a new product to make sure the client can see what the final product will look like before the product has been made so then they can make changes on the planning so it isn't as time consuming when making the app.
Another job role is the front end developer which has a job role to prioritise the users experience to ensure that users get the best experience when using the app. To make sure they meet this requirement they will need to create new tools which makes the app more interactive for users.
The role of a back end developer is to integrate the application with multiple technologies. They can also create a reusable code that can be put into the application before concentrating on how they can optimise the application for its users.
Another role is the software developer. This is where they write instructions for what the application does and how it will do it the progression of technology now means this job role is a key aspect to creating a fully functioning app. They need people such as software developers to make sure products always work before being available to the public
U.I designers role is to design the interface for products such as an app they are the one who decide/create the way to navigate through an app or a software they can also create overall concept for the users experience ensuring that all of the interactions for users initiative and easy for their. consumers.
A quality analysis role is to develop and execute test plans to make sure all of the objectives are met. They also monitor the functionality, stability, reliability and overall performance of a product and identify and detect any issues with the product so they can be changed or fixed. This job role is always required before releasing a product to customers.
